Use a Fluval Sponge, don't improvise

I bought a used Fluval U1 filter for a very low price and thought I could just add some foam to it, that I lied around. It was clogged up after 3-4 days and was driving me crazy. Seeing that the price of a real sponge was so low, I decided to give it a try. Works great! Drastically reduces the number of times I have to service the filter.
