Strange sizing issue but good helmet, also this flip lock system

When I ordered this helmet (909) I wanted to upgrade the 906. In many ways, this is a really good upgrade for a minimal price increase. On the one hand, this is a step backwards. Pros: The helmet is well made and attractive. The transparent visor snaps into place and almost no airflow penetrates the seam. The tinted inner windshield is tinted, but not too much so you can't use it on cloudy days. Both visors work well. The open/closed front also works well and the pin closure is very strong. No issues with the faceplate and I really like how the ILM uses the stylus as it's a solid positive feedback system when the lock button is pressed. Fit and finish are nice. The helmet is very attractive. Cushioning is the perfect balance. Not too thin and not too thick. The ventilation is reliable. there are 3 showers for suction work. One on the chin and two on top. They also have an active fin on the back top. Cons: My only issue is the size. So I already have an ILM helmet (906). These helmets have the same size chart as this helmet. I chose XL for this 906. It was a great fit. For this helmet I scaled up to XXL for some mic space and it's actually smaller inside than the XL 906. I don't get it. Did you apply the wrong size sticker? I don't think so as the 909 looks bigger. I can still attach it, but it's even harder to fit the mic into the 909. I can still fit this helmet but they need to revise their sizing charts. There is no excuse for an XXL inner to be smaller than an XL when using the same sizing specifications. Notes: The 909 (this helmet) has a much better chin guard. The 906's chin curtain fell off too easily. Curtain 909 is never accidentally lost.

Pros
  • can prevent the chin guard from falling off/tipping over when it turns into a flip up helmet.
Cons
  • Exorbitant price
