Overall these winter pants from Columbia are great. As mentioned by other reviewers, the sizes run large. I have a large 5 year old and bought the XXS (4/5) on recommendation and am glad I did. It fits perfectly and he will be able to wear it next year because of the OUTGROWN SYSTEM feature. Size XS would have been too big for sure. The size chart on the winter pants says: US size XXS: 4/5 (I found this to be big for a 4 year old. Suitable for a 5 year old in "regular size" with some room for a little growth. XS: 6 /7S:8M:10/12L:14/16XL:18/20 "OUTGROW SYSTEM" The function is as follows: 1. Turn the snow pants inside out. 2. Pull out the drawstring (this is a permanent change as you are now removing the seam that makes the pants shorter).3. Expand the cuffs of your pants. (The flared pant will be about 2 inches longer after the drawstring is removed) Another feature I like: Velcro for adjustable waist
