I am a qualified automotive technician and have been dealing with vehicles for over 30 years. I'm writing this review aimed more at those who work with cars every day rather than weekends. I have used this kit twice and it performs exactly as I would expect from a $70 kit. That said, can you expect too much from him? The first job I used it for was replacing a rear wheel bearing on a BMW E46 325i. For this job, the tool worked flawlessly and, from my understanding, paid for itself. As the instructions state, I have not used a percussion instrument and since the metal is so soft I don't think I ever will. The second photo shows the markings on an adapter after the BMW repair. The second time I used it was when I replaced a front wheel bearing on a 2007 Lincoln MKZ. Obviously you can't clean the front hub with this tool on a car so you still have to remove the spindle assembly. However, when I took the hub out, I found that I couldn't apply enough pressure with this tool to dislodge the bearing from the spindle. In fairness, the store press also had to contend with the same task. After taking everything apart I used this kit to put everything back together and found it easier to use than a factory press as the shape of the spindle on this machine makes it difficult to use a standard press. If you take your time and use this set carefully, I don't see why this tool won't last you long. On the other hand, at this price point, would you be too upset if you had to replace it? In a world where you get what you pay for, I believe you get twice what you pay for with this set.
