Review on 🔪 20x15x2.25 John Boos Block RA02-GRV Maple Wood Edge Grain Reversible Cutting Board with Juice Moat by Roberta Gonia

Ordered this as a Christmas present for my husband who loves to cook and has always said he would love one of these as they are so highly regarded. I was a little nervous about the bad reviews but brushed them off because this branded board has such a high reputation. Lo and behold I received the board the day I ordered it and straight out of the box there is a notch on the top with a sap groove and on the rear flat side there are natural cracks in the wood similar to what you would find from a knot would. in the tree. I have no idea why they used that piece of wood to make the board. The natural crack goes down and food can get in, which is definitely not what you want in a cutting board. I processed the return immediately and Amazon sent me a replacement. Fingers crossed I get the perfect one. In terms of brand name/reputation/price I feel my experience was very disappointing to say the least. Because they are advertised as the best I should have received a great product the first time around. I will update my review after receiving a second one.
