Know what you're getting
There are many $20 sharpeners out there. Most just disassemble your knife. When you use it for the first time, you will find that it doesn't work. It actually hangs past your edge, so it takes a few hits (30-40) to do this. After that, the knife stays sharp longer. However, after that it is impossible to use the usual sharper ear, the angle is wrong. Adding water to the product aids the process but makes cleaning and drying more difficult. I like the result but the process is too much for the price.
