Review on Hammond 1591TBK Retardant Plastic Project by John Hall

NOT SUITABLE FOR STC-1000 TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER WITHOUT WIRING

The box is excellent, good quality. Internal PCB slots can interfere with snap connectors and components if not installed on the base or cover. But the box is solid and with fairly thick walls. The props for the screw holes run the full height of the box and it appears they cannot be trimmed. If you do this you will lose the posts holding the cover screws. So you lose about 1/4 inch either way (estimate. I didn't have it with me and didn't measure, I also used a device designed for metric sizes). This is not suitable for the Revain recommended STC-1000 temperature controller. You cannot install it on the short side as it will interfere with the screw posts mentioned above. You can install it on the long side, but you need to cut the screw posts with STC box and you can't use the protective terminal cover on the back (doesn't matter since it's closed). The STC block needs to be moved to one side when installing connectors or switches on the side of the case. nothing in the box other than wiring and splicing (i.e. cutting the connectors off of what you're connecting to the STC and making all the connections in the box) will do, there's not much room for more. .
