Review on 🚴 XOSS G+ Bike Computer GPS: Wireless Cycling Computers with Speedometer, Bluetooth 5.0 & ANT+, IPX7 Waterproof by Tim Airy

DOES NOT WORK INDOOR (GPS only). The application is not compatible. Customer service is non-existent. Otherwise fine.

If you *just* want to ride outdoors, view live data from wireless sensors, and report those routes and activities to Strava, this is a good device and a good deal to have. It's well made, the accuracy matches my Garmin watch and the battery life seems good. The mount is very rigid so the rubber bands stretch quite a bit when removing/installing. I suspect a front mount is required if you don't want those straps to stretch and lose your device. The app is buggy, you often have to restart it or your device to connect. The big issue for me is that while it does show speed from the sensor, it ONLY calculates elapsed/total distance and time via the GPS, meaning that if like me you use a treadmill or bike all winter, there's no way to view / sync this information. Deducted a star for that, and also because the answers on the product page were conflicting about it, the product description didn't cover it and the manual didn't mention it. I lost another star for trying to contact XOSS via email and social media but never got a response. Their entire social media presence is just pointless posts that look automatic/scheduled, with comments full of people asking for support. Apparently it's a big company in China whose app is more popular than Strava, so it's a shame they don't have real customer support. Now I'm returning this device and running the free Wahoo Fitness or Velodash apps instead of a phone (still comparing them) with the battery connected for long trips. In the spring I'll probably break down and snag one of those better supported offerings from Bryton or Lezyne that *really* let you train indoors - simply because they're more reliable than a phone in wet weather.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something
