just a little smaller than the original for my Lancer. It could be used, but also the main reason is that the plastic frame around the whole filter is not even and uneven like a decent filter should be. Also for this reason, the mating surface with the gasket has a slight "slope" so it doesn't seal as well as a GOOD air filter. I suggest you check yours unless I got a bad one, although I've never bought that cheap brand again. Classic example of you getting what you pay for here.
