A must for studying abroad!

***Review*** It does exactly what it says on the tin, it converts excitement which is good. I came with a UK, US, AU head and the cable ends with an EU head. It also has USB heads on the side with different charging speeds, standard charging speed and faster. This travel voltage converter looks great and is anything but cheap. Its high quality. There's a buzzing noise when turning it on, but it's actually not that annoying. But it has a switch so you can turn it on and off if you want. I never turned off the mines, they were on constantly for about 8 months straight and never went off. This is good quality. A friend of mine that I met abroad bought a black one from another company that was also a voltage converter, he also bought it from Amazon. Unfortunately I can't remember the brand but it broke after two months of continuous use (which means it was used 24/7, I'm sure it would have lasted longer in other circumstances). *** Personal Advice *** I was studying abroad in London and it saved my life. London is a very expensive city and thanks to that I was able to save money not having to buy an iron, hair dryer, etc. Basically, these are things that usually don't change voltage, or can either break or break the adapter that was purchased with a no-voltage conversion adapter. But it's not portable, and you'll need a simple little adapter to charge your phone on the go. I would recommend getting a portable adapter instead of buying a USB phone charger no matter what country you are in, the reason is that you can use it to charge laptops, phones and iPads/tablets for so many things, which you don't need to change the voltage for so it's great to have a small one with you while you work out or go sightseeing. I will say that the purchase is not necessary unless you plan to stay in the country for a long time, and most hotels or hostels in Europe will provide you with a converter to use in your room. So again you only need a small one if you are outside your hotel or hostel. I have lived in London for almost 8 months and visited 9 countries abroad. I didn't need to take it to the nine other countries I visited because I didn't need large devices on my travels. I just used a regular adapter. But I admit I broke the adapter in Spain, it wasn't this one but a standard adapter with a bunch of built in sliders to go with my EU, UK, AU and US iron. I have to say if you are planning to stay too long in another country or not renting a house for your stay. you don't need it easy, no voltage change, ideal for a week or two abroad. If you want this for multiple heads, just buy a standard adapter and bring an extension cord that you probably already have. Just make sure you only connect phones, iPads, and laptops. If you connect to anything else, this hack will break (you learn some hacks abroad).

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
