No cops here - I bought this for the wall above my cutting board cabinet - because I'm tired of reaching in a drawer for a knife - and here in Hawaii if you need a knife holder for have the countertop - it fills up with ants and shit - and then you have to buy terro - (see review of terro sans buns) - BUT - it doesn't really fit my larger Victornox knife and it just looks like a little Jake the wall . But I looked at the price of it and thought about my expectations for a "knife safe" that costs less than the beer I buy and lasts a lot longer. So 5 stars for the price. 4 stars for practicality - 3 stars for durability - and I get 1 star for hanging something on the wall my wife will never be sure of.
