There are a lot of comments in previous reviews that suggest people bought this for an application they didn't think of before buying. This is complicated by the lack of good data on the size of the network when mounted. So I add a few carefully considered ones here. In a fully relaxed state, but the attachment loops are stretched at the appropriate diagonal, the centers of the hinge attachment are 38 inches long and 14 inches deep. The deep direction does not extend around the edges. The mesh installed on these centers will sag and dangle a bit. ***** I then stretched the grid so I figured it would just self adjust and look good when empty, but then stretch when loaded. In this condition, the hinge centers are 43 inches long and 14 inches deep. Note that the depth does not change. While the network sticks out, these ends will not stretch. It's specially made that way. Due to location restrictions in my app, I had to make compromises. I adjusted the trellis under the shelf to 41 1/4 inches x 14 inches on center. The mesh pocket is positioned horizontally up under the shelf, extends back under the shelf, and even with a slight change in attachment length, the mesh holds up very well. beautiful and handles its load well. I am very satisfied with the product and will probably buy more.
