When our waterbed was leaking and water was building up in our house, we decided to replace it with a good quality memory foam mattress. We're used to a cooler mattress and the memory foam was good in the winter and spring months, but with summer temps over 100 degrees and even at room temperature 74 degrees it was terribly hot. We considered many solutions and settled on an organic merino wool mattress topper that exceeded our expectations in every way. The mattress topper arrived in record time, nicely packaged in its own drawstring bag. The bag itself is a sight to behold, with a security tab just below the buttoned lid, a very nice touch that shows the quality of the contents. The topper is beautifully finished, from the cover fabric to the excellent stitching. Two elastic bands, one near the head and one near the legs, ingeniously press the topper to the mattress! We placed the topper on a protective plastic pad that sits directly over the memory foam and placed a lighter cotton protective pad on top of the topper. The bed was easy to make as the topper doesn't add much height. Merino wool topper fits in every way. It's lightweight, not too thick and dense, so it retains all the benefits and comfort of a memory foam mattress. The topper forms an all-natural barrier of memory foam and a plastic liner for a cool and comfortable night's sleep. The best thing about the topper is how I felt when I woke up this morning!
