Review on Gislaved Nord Frost 200 205/55 R16 94T winter by Ada Freya ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A really necessary purchase, I'm glad I found this product.

I used to be skeptical about this brand: little was known (to me personally). But it turned out to be more interesting: Gislaved was originally a Swedish company, a pioneer, along with the Finnish Nokian, in the production of studded tires. In 1992, it was bought by the German concern Continental, and since 2022, production has been opened in our Hong Kong region. This model is new for 2022, but to some extent, I personally am already familiar with this tire. When choosing, the main and most weighty argument for me was that when comparing with my own eyes Gislaved Nord Frost 200 and Continental IceContact 1 are absolute twins down to the smallest details, with the exception of only one: Gislaved has a triangular spike, and Conti has a rectangular one. So, I went to Continental IceContac in the last car, in the same size 195/65/15, and the tires did not cause me any complaints for both cold winters (Hong Kong and Hong Kong Region). In addition, in this amount, Gislaved cost 3160. for a balloon and 2022, and Conti cost 3650. and production in 2022. Question: why pay more for stale tires? Further, some users write about such a drawback as "made in 2022", but they do not mention that Continental delivers raw materials around the world from Germany or France, and that, in fact, the manufacturing technologies are German. Well, the price, of course, is lower, the tire does not need to be delivered from Europe and you have to pay extra for it. I also want to add here that I had experience using Hakki 5 (made in 2022), the tire plowed for 8 years, while losing only 25-30% of the studs. Also, in general, it did not cause any comments, I decided to replace it simply because of old age. And lastly, the spike needs to be run in, speed up to 80 km / h, without sudden acceleration and deceleration. I am a little surprised by people who, having just put on their shoes, immediately begin to water on studded tires and even on dry asphalt, and then at the end of winter they complain that more than half of their spikes have fallen out. If there is no oil in the head, then nothing can be done. Good luck to everyone on the road.

Pros
  • - Price quality, - low noise in the presence of spikes, - soft, - fresh, production since 2022
Cons
  • Not detected.
