Beautiful but not functional

These are wooden sheds. I've never seen anything like this. I opened the plastic wrap and washed the zorya and soft sponge before use. The sponge was covered with wood shavings. I dried it with a soft towel and there were wood chips on the towel. The cutting board now has a shaggy, unfinished appearance. I'm not sure if the problem is with how the board is cut, finished or the type of wood, but this is a complete failure of the cutting board. Absolutely beautiful grain and color but terrible functionality.
