I like them really good for steak sets

I like them a lot. I like that natural wood handles and like real wood don't go together. I'm a knife guy. I collect cutlery and (knives, swords, hunting knives, ironwork, make some hunting knives and daggers and other iron and steel things.) Let's see, someone mentioned that the blades are thick from flat to flat. That is a good thing. Let me explain. Knives dull over time and need to be sharpened. Each time you sharpen a knife, some of the metal is removed. Being made of stainless steel is good for most people. Stainless steel tends to be slightly harder and more brittle. This means it takes a little longer to sharpen, but stays sharp longer and stainless steel doesn't discolour over time. I personally prefer carbon steel, but that's like the difference between an automatic and a manual transmission. I also prefer manuals. Yes, they aren't that sharp on delivery, they have what used to be called a factory edge. As a result, the angle is not so sharp that the blade is not damaged during transport. It took me about 30 minutes or so to give the whole set a few different types of wet rocks. From now on, a few sweeps of the stone and a rub of tung oil on the handles now and then will do the maintenance and this set will easily last a hundred years. I personally think the price is cheap for what they are. I don't really care about the box. The only negative I can think of is that I'm not a fan of mirror shine on knife blades. I prefer the satin finish. There are no traces of whetstones on the satin finish. On the other hand, the high gloss finish will still turn to satin over time, so it's fine. A knife is a tool and needs to be looked after. A knife with sharpening marks belongs to someone who takes care of their tools and takes care of them.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very expensive
