Review - April 28, 2018 After reading so many bad reviews I was very skeptical. However, there was a review for one of the cartridge numbers (I can't remember if it was number 98) stating that it was excellent for the HP H470 OfficeJet. This applies until you turn the printer off and on again. Back then my HP H470 OfficeJet:1. Wouldn't recognize him.2. It stuck and didn't work at all. The light will come on, but otherwise dead as a doornail. 3. I had to turn it off and have surgery to remove the fake cartridge and fiddle around for another half hour to bring my printer back to life. You probably won't get as far as I did - I'm not bragging. All that said, if you're the poor guy who bought one of these printers because genuine HP printers cost the same as a new printer, here's what to do: A. DO NOT throw out your old genuine HP cartridge away! B. Only install the cartridge when the printer is turned on. C. Before turning off the printer, remove it and reinsert the original HP.D cartridge. When you turn on the printer, make sure that only genuine HP cartridges are installed in the printer. Before turning off the printer, make sure that only genuine HP cartridges are installed in the printer. F. Ignore these steps at your own risk. HP is making insane profits on ink, which is actually an extremely cheap commodity. They protect this cash cow by designing their printers and cartridges so that the printers can recognize aftermarket cartridges. I didn't say fake. These cartridges are not fake. They don't say HP. These are aftermarket cartridges, which is perfectly normal and legal. If anything, printers are designed to recognize third-party cartridges and shut them down until they're utterly useless junk. Your printer will be garbage unless you are a highly skilled person like me capable of resurrecting anything close to eternal damnation. >99% of you can't. The rest <1% will find out for themselves. I would give this product more stars if the manufacturer had the decency to provide the above instructions, AF, in the listing and attach the documents for it. Update - May 5, 2018 The seller offered a refund or replacement to quell this unfavorable review. However, that doesn't change the fact that an HP printer is specifically designed to lock up when it contains a cartridge from another manufacturer. If you have the patience and determination, you can follow the AF steps above. Against this background, the HP printer software indicates that the cartridge is empty. That way you never know you'll run out of ink until it's gone. Since I'm smart enough to figure out these steps, I'll just get by with the cartridge instead of being exposed to the extortionate prices of genuine HP cartridges. This is a catch 22 situation for the consumer.
