Okay, so I've discovered that this dress comes in two different materials. If you happen to get the ponte material dress (I got mine in black), it is comfortable beyond belief and easily the most forgiving piece of clothing in my closet. Lumps and bumps receive aesthetic relief in this pointe perfection and it is #worthit. The other material is stretchy and far less forgiving, BUT it is definitely designed to slim in the right areas.Here's the difference in terms of what size you should order. In the ponte material, feel free to order your size as usual. The stretchy material - well, you may need to order a size up or so. It's tricky. The fit around the torso is quite fitted, so if you have a little spare tire, bear this in mind if this is something you'd prefer to hide. It also fits snug around the rear. Again, if you have lumps and bumps in the back, bear this in mind, or lean more toward the darker colors as it will hide it more. The cream color, for example, will showcase everything. All that having been said, the dress has a slimming effect. The dress would do well with hourglass and athletic figures at the same size they would typically get. For my pear-shaped sisters, if you'd prefer not to accentuate your rear, I'd go one size up. If you're comfy with it, my guess is that this dress will give pears an apple bottom.
