Got this for a retired employee and loved it. I originally started out with one of those funny asses with humor saying things like "take this job and shove it in" because I know he's been through a lot. It's easy to sympathize with someone for parts of life that suck loudly. Our culture somehow encourages us to focus on the negative, but sometimes the difficult parts of life "grow" us. It's harder but far wiser and nicer to maintain dignity through adversity, to stand next to someone and think about the blessings and think about what it means to get through difficult times with hope and faith that there is still a wonderful life ahead suits us. etc. I could say that the beautiful poem touched him.
