Too expensive good for digital cameras Accessories

So yes, doubling the battery life is good, but is it worth more than $250 just because you don't change the battery? I bought it thinking it was worth it, but now that I've received it I could return it. The ONLY thing this is useful for is that you can put 2 batteries in instead of 1. I think this is probably the most expensive thing Canon sells.
