This is a durable knife sharpener. It has 3 levels for knives, 1-speed for initial sharpening, 2-for subsequent sharpening and 3-fine for the final stage of the process and also has a slot for sharpening scissors. It does a great job with knives, but I always have trouble with scissors, no matter what sharpener I use that has a scissor cutout. I just can't understand it, but from what I'm trying it seems to sharpen scissors too. It has a secure grip to hold the sharpener when you pull the knives back towards you and has a non-slip base. Overall I would recommend this sharpener and for the price you can't go wrong.
