I've had my eye on this lens for a long time as I'm hesitating between it and Nikon's Tokina 100mm f/2.8. I've heard good things about both lenses, but I chose this lens for two reasons: it's cheaper than the international version, and it has a built-in focus motor (for the future). I just received the lens today and took some test shots; I'm more than impressed with his performance. I use this lens with my Nikon D7200 and the auto focus was great. Before buying a lens I was concerned that the autofocus might not work very well, but it turns out it focuses accurately and quickly. I noticed that this lens hunted more times in live view than I would have liked. Also, I usually go for f/8-f/13 when shooting macro because the depth of field is VERY shallow. In addition, the build quality is good and it is "Made in Japan". Anyway, I've posted some test shots in this review so you can get an idea of how the lens performs. These images are taken directly from the camera without any processing. Update: one of the photos of the pen has been edited for comparison.
