I got this "miracle" to replace my WD3200, which was becoming old (Since he hopelessly passed away). I purchased a Seagate drive on May 3 and it performed flawlessly up until May 9. After this date, some squeaks began to occur, as if a needle were simply flying off course while traversing the disk, and after these squeaks, the entire computer would freeze for a few seconds. It was discovered today that the hard drive shuts down every 20 minutes. Like saving energy and all that, I turned off this saving and encountered a blue screen. After a number of frauds and more than three hours, I eventually managed to launch the system. At startup, the system repaired any damaged hard drive sectors. I really don't want to claim that Seagate is a nasty corporation; perhaps I'm just married. But in the end, I have far more faith in WD than Seagate after my old WD (which I used for 6 years without any issues).
