Review on πŸ”ͺ Kyocera Ceramic 3" Paring Knife with Sugarcane Sourced Material Handle: Superior Cutting Performance and Sustainable Design by Eric Montgomery

Revainrating 5 out of 5

No protective cover or case! You will need a knife block to protect this blade.

I have had a pair of Kyocera ceramic knives, a santoku and a paring knife that I have used for over 10 years. These are my favorite knives and I've never had to sharpen them. Unfortunately I lost my paring knife so I took this one. I still have a santoku and it's my favorite kitchen knife. The only way to keep my Kyocera ceramic knives pristine and chip-free for ten years is to keep them in this thin, flexible plastic case whenever I put them away. For some reason this new knife is not coming. with a shell or even a plastic/vinyl lid! Why save here? For this price, it's crazy that this ceramic knife doesn't even come with the thin protective plastic/vinyl sleeve that their older knives came with. Without a sheath I worry about chipping as that is the biggest problem with ceramic knives. I have ceramic knives that cost almost half that and come with hard plastic sheaths. The knife itself has 5 stars and is just as good as the one I lost. Unfortunately I have no way of protecting the blade from chipping as they don't have a lid. The situation in our drawers doesn't allow for a knife block, so I'm deeply disappointed that one of the most expensive ceramic knives in my kitchen is the only one that doesn't even come with a thin plastic sleeve to protect it. Blade. Rating for: Kyocera Ceramic 3 inch paring knife with cane handle
