This one smells strong

I bought the black Omega 10049. This is my first boar comb so I really didn't know what to expect. I made this purchase based on the rave reviews. My experience is based on using synthetic and badger hair brushes in the past. This brush is 1 inch longer and almost twice the size of any of my other brushes. Specs, but the handle is a lot bigger than I thought. Still, I find it more comfortable to use either in a bowl or directly on my face. According to other reviewers, it has a good base and lathers up really well. I've tried it with several soaps and creams and it works great. Now for the smell. I don't know about others but after rinsing in warm water the smell was overwhelming, I wasn't expecting anything. I can't describe it exactly, but it's quite a stinky smell. So I followed the video I found on YouTube and soaked it in hot water mixed with a fair amount of dish soap for about 15 minutes. , washed it very well in warm water, lathered it with my Proraso twic shaving soap as if I were going to shave and let it dry overnight. After rinsing it out in the morning and using it for the past week, I still smell that particular smell, but only when I hold it to my nose. which I don't usually do. Now the smell of my shaving soap has become dominant. The brush is really softer and lathers a bit better. It should be completely broken after 15+ shaves, so this is just the beginning. I can honestly say that I prefer this brush to my other brushes. Easier to use and lathers just as well. In the picture you can see the Omega brush next to the TJ synthetic brush. I am happy to report that the smell from animals was 100% eliminated in about 2 weeks from the start of use. I use an unscented shaving cream that smells just faintly of olive oil and the brush smells the same now. If you have a more heavily scented soap, I'm sure your brush will smell the same in no time. Boar hair has properties similar to human hair. It smells like the last soap you used and absorbs water like human hair. I actually use a towel to dry. Hope it's not human. What a great brush.
