Chip Quik Solder Flux works well but "burns out" fairly quickly. After a few seconds of heat application, the flux appears to "run away" from the heat source and turn brown. Once it turns brown it becomes very sticky and difficult to remove with hot soap and water OR denatured ethanol (ethyl alcohol). Review revised - December 2018 Since then I have gained more experience with this flux and had some problems with my use. that is not right. The issues mentioned above were due to me applying too much heat too quickly. With gentler (slower) heating, the flux works well, leaves bright shiny solder joints, and is easy to clean (which isn't necessary since it's a "dirty" flux - but I do it anyway). Although this flux is part of Chip-Quik's chip removal system, it also works great as regular soldering flux. The tiniest drop holds the SMD part in place leaving nice, VERY shiny and fully sealed connections. One thing to watch out for is using this flux with IC headers or pin headers.
