My husband wanted a smaller mug for his morning commute and this certainly helped. It's small, but it serves its purpose. Silicone "cream” device on top is for ventilation. It's a little uncomfortable drinking with the vent open because some of the water goes up my nose. It's not impractical, I just wish it didn't open to the drinking spout. It also feels durable, is dishwasher safe and seems to keep hot things hot and cold things cold.
