Review on 🌈 Stained Glass Panel - Victoria Lane: Beautiful Window Hangings - Window Treatments in Multicolor by Design Toscano by Cameron Head

Nice piece of glass with little effort!

When I saw this item online I thought it matched perfectly with a similar antique glass I have installed in my home. I still thought it was good when I got it, but the workmanship seemed very rushed and inconsistent. Glass has a good side and a bad side, but it's not that noticeable from a distance. What made this part look new and not so pretty was the sloppy start. First, it was black, which made the glass look very cheap. And for me I needed the edge that would match the antique piece exactly. I thought about getting the window back, but instead I thought maybe I could use one of my ancient tricks to better match the window to our other window. I went to Michael and was given a metal silver oil based marker. It's also water-based, but that's not what it's made for. It also comes in several different points, I use a fine tip. What I did was paint everything black to soften the black. This makes it silvery and very bright, but looks better than black. At that moment, she didn't look like a real presenter. However, if you take hand sanitizing gel and apply it to the layer of lead (no, I'm not kidding), there will be a chemical reaction when rubbed in, and the oil-based paint will turn a dark leaden gray trying to rub it off. , and antiques it. Because it is an oil paint, it cannot be washed off with a disinfectant. It just takes the ease. This may work with alcohol, but I found the gel to be less messy and easier to control. The painting and sanding process took about an hour and a half, but when it was finished it looked almost exactly like our vintage piece. The only difference is that real lead is very thin, and the lead on this piece is very tight because the wrong wrapping technique was used, not the lead line technique. I did not hang the part on the hardware when installing the window. in one of the two entrances from our kitchen to the hallway. I ended up creating a wooden frame for it and adding some extra stained glass panes that I bought at a stained glass shop. All in all a good thing with a lot of potential. For most I think it's fine out of the box which was well packed for shipping I have to say. For my needs I just had to make adjustments to suit my needs as this was constantly being added to our home. Much luck!
