Review on πŸ”¨ Ryobi P222 Rotary Hammer Power Tool by Robert Gilbert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Allows for quick work with rotary hammers

I bought this unit for half a dozen scheduled projects that required me to drill basic holes in concrete. This defiantly outperformed my old method of using my 1/4" impact drills and rock drills by buying a set of 3 for half a dozen holes. I bought a base set SDS/+ 1/4" - 3/. 4". Took this guy out of the box and got to work. Arrived quickly and intact, as expected, with just the bare tools. Good price, hard to find, a genuine SDS/+ punch for less than $100 with cord This tool is also very light with a standard battery and a small bit you could probably stick tapcons in a log wall all day for no more work than a regular drill press Pit cover and wire clamp holes in my basement I have it with me a 3/ 4" drill bit on the garage floor where I will be running the drain, it took me less than a minute to bite through the stove with a fresh battery. Tested in hard concrete, block, brick and stone, over 50 years old. Whether for home use or light professional use, this thing is more than enough for small jobs where you don't want to lug a big boy in. Definitely think 4AH batteries are a must. When drilling 12 1/4" and 4" deep holes in a row, the device began to sound like it was noticeably working to keep up.

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
