Put this filter on my '07 Mustang and it was a direct factory replacement (hopefully it's Motorcraft). Your vehicle will determine how easy the replacement will be. With the Mustang I had to jack up the car to get under it and then remove the plastic cover to get to the filter location. After that, the fuel lines were simply removed from the filter and immediately snapped back onto this filter. When I changed the filter on my Ranger, a special tool was required to disconnect the fuel lines from the filter. This is a great way to find out if your car's fuel lines need a tool or not. Most auto parts stores sell tools, but if you want to be in the middle of a job, stop and get a tool.
