I had another model of this. I think it's great that you can just put your phone on it when you get in the car. My cell phone has never been dropped. It's nice when I can see my screen over the map. Haven't tried putting a tablet on it, but it probably holds a smaller, thin tablet well. My tablet is too big and too heavy. The only complaint I had was that during installation I had to use a flathead screwdriver to gently spread the pins so they would slide over the air vent. This is a tight fit. I even removed all moving parts of the device for more spread, but it was still difficult to open the pins. I don't think I'll be switching this from my car to my truck. I'm sure it will get the job done as intended, portability aside. It appears to be high quality material.
