I use these scissors about every 2 weeks to lengthen my cut. I have very thick hair that is cut in layers. These scissors thin the hair and increase the time between cuts. My barber thinks I'll go crazy cutting my hair, but I think it looks pretty good when I'm done! Note that these scissors are sharp (which also means they can cut hair very nicely). Every time I use them I get a small cut on my arm. I'm pretty sure this is due to user error, but wanted to warn newbies.
