Review on 🍋 Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Liquid Laundry Detergent: Cruelty Free, Biodegradable Formula with Essential Oils, Lemon Verbena Scent - 64 oz (64 Loads) by Lindsey Scott

I try to use natural products almost exclusively. I love Frau Meyer's hand soap. However, something is wrong with this detergent. I've read several reviews complaining about "vomit" and similar unpleasant odors that linger on clothes after drying. I thought these people just had weird olfactory receptors or something and ordered a bottle because I love the smell of lemon verbena. After using this cleaner for a while I know what these reviewers were talking about. The first time I thought it smelled like I left my wet clothes in the washing machine overnight and it got weird. It wasn't like that. The unpleasant odor seems to linger most persistently in thick items like bath towels, um, padded bras, etc. Since then I have washed my towels and other clothes several times with a different detergent (my usual brand). At first I thought everything was fine, after drying they seemed fine, but as soon as the towels got damp after a shower the smell returned to its full strength. I did a hot wash, bleached some clothes with chlorine, ran the dryer sanitize function hoping to get rid of it. Unfortunately, I still can't get rid of the strong smell. I give up. I will have to buy a new set of towels as I think these are broken. I don't know why some people do this and others don't. Maybe it's some kind of reaction to something in my regional water supply in Tucson, Arizona. One star for Ms. Meyer's green efforts.
