Was hoping this would be an option to throw on one of my tripods and use as a mobile workstation and for tethering. It is NOT stable and durable enough to put expensive gear on it. The tray seemed to shake a lot from the moment I placed it on the tripod. I lowered the center speaker all the way down and the wobble stayed the same as before. I checked everything, and the tray itself was shaking. I could physically observe the tray flexing where you attach it to the tripod. I've seen reviews of people using it for their laptop, but my goodness, this thing rocks a lot to put a $4,000+ piece of hardware on it. That device is the new 16-inch MacBook Pro. If it can't securely hold your MacBook Pro without flexing or wiggling, then it can't be used as a mobile workstation or for a secure studio connection. This tray is not worth risking your gear. So if you plan on using it for that purpose I'd say look elsewhere and maybe set up a beaver board for use on a light stand instead. Either way, it has more uses. It's cheap and can do the job for you but the description says it's durable and I totally disagree. In my opinion, inaccurate descriptions automatically get 1 star.
