Review on Intel Core i7-8700K: Unleash the Power of 6 Cores, Turbo Boost up to 4.7GHz – Perfect for LGA1151 300 Series Desktops! by Mateusz Praga ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality exceeds all expectations, I recommend to buy.

I didn’t want to bother with overclocking and took it without the K index. I’m satisfied with the purchase. I put a thermalright macho 140 rev tower on it. A. In idle, the temperature fluctuates 28-33,! BUT! when you start applications, temperature jumps up to 50-55 occur, this is apparently due to the fact that the voltage is growing, etc., etc. I don’t know how critical this is for his work, maybe someone will answer this in a comment, but I think it doesn’t matter. In games, the temperature does not rise above 60. I took it so that I could sit out on the built-in video core while I save up for a video card, in simple network games it’s very worthy (90-120) fps at the minimum in full hd.

Pros
  • 1. Nimble (6/12 after all) 2. Large power reserve for the future 3. Good embedded core
Cons
  • 1. High TDP 2. Thermal paste under the cover (although I don’t think it’s so critical for a processor without overclocking), as a last resort, it will be possible to scalp in the future
