Review on Souped Up Recipes Induction Seasoning by Jared Gopalan

Great wok! …. And it gets better!

I've had this wok for a long time and I love it! It was great when I first got it and it only gets better as I use it. When I received it I watched Mandy's YouTube video on how to spice up my new wok. I followed her very detailed directions on how to season it and followed her directions on how to further care for it. The older the nonstick coating gets, the bigger it gets. I always wash my wok with hot water after use and then reheat to dry it completely and then rub the inside with a hard vegetable fat like Crisco and then reheat to "burn off" the fat. This is the same technique that works well for keeping my cast iron skillets in tip-top shape. This wok is well built. It's the right weight to balance handling and keeping warm. Carbon steel conducts heat very well. It heats evenly and holds heat well when food is added. The flat base is just the right size to stand firmly on the hob while still retaining the benefits of round-sided woks. The embossed design on the inside helps keep food on the side while other ingredients are added and cooked. It's a lot easier to use than my old stovetop round bottom wok. Thanks for the great wok, Mandy. It goes perfectly with your amazing Souped Up recipes!
