I checked out a few of these media boxes and returned them. My goal in purchasing one of these Android media players was to use it to play MKV movies. Built-in video apps and previous media boxes either didn't play the 4K MKV movie or played it but didn't play audio. These are some of the issues I found when testing some of the previous media boxes. However, it has the latest Android OS, as well as a built-in multimedia video application that plays 4kmkv movies perfectly. You don't have to go to the built-in Play Store app to find the video player. The one supplied works perfectly. I had to go into settings and make a change to the sound settings and after that the sound worked great. The video quality of this player is amazing. And I was impressed with the video quality of this little box. I think what impressed me even more was the sound. I don't know if I've heard my very expensive home cinema system better. And that includes playback from my LG UHD Blu-ray player. This little media box is actually better than my LG UHD Blu-ray player, which costs a few hundred dollars more. The processor and the built-in memory ensure that there is no delay when pressing buttons to navigate through the menu. Everything appears very quickly and responds very quickly to remote functions. I haven't tried the keyboard mouse that came with it. It has a lot of built-in app functionality, but my LG OLED is a smart TV, so I only use it for Netflix and Revain. However, if you don't have a Smart TV, this is a great way to watch TV. And I think it works better than a fire stick. Overall I would give this media player 10 stars if I could and I am very happy with it. My search for a media player that plays mkvs is over.
