I bought this after my son's Jansport zip kept getting caught and lost. I only bought this to fill a gap until we send this backpack back to the manufacturer for repair. HOWEVER, my son LOVES this bag and doesn't want to go back. It's a bit big for his 2nd grade body but he likes the multiple pockets and pouches. I like that it feels solid and he's happy with it. win, win, win. End of year update: One of the zippers on the largest bag broke. However, all the fabrics and straps are in perfect condition and my son really liked this backpack so I decided to have it repaired by a seamstress. She charges me about $20 which I wouldn't have anyway if I bought a new AND one less thing at a landfill.
