Are they illegal? May be. I did not ask. What I do know for sure is that this little crank helps me get in and out of a big truck all day. The idea of a wheel coming back and breaking your wrist is ridiculous unless it's a 1965 Plymouth. If you've got power steering, you don't have to worry. The mount is thick so I had to glue the wheel where I wanted to mount the handle but once you get it tight it goes smooth. You know that you drive and text, smoke, eat. but everyone wants to point out the danger of the "suicide pen". spare me. If you are a truck driver, parking lot or loading dock this is your setup. I've put them on 6 trucks and never had a problem with them. Don't listen to idiots. These are the people you hate when you drive.
