Updated August 31, 2021 I understand why they say the soft side is soft. After sleeping on it for a while I say that my original rating has changed from 8/10 for firmness on the soft side to 7/10. In fact, it does soften up a bit after a few weeks of sleep. So it seems like average at first, but after a while it softens a bit. Still has that pressure relief/back support feature, but just wanted to point out that the soft side is actually softer than it first appears. This bed is as amazing as you will see from hundreds of 5 star reviews. Don't be put off by the small number of negative reviews as almost no product is 100% 5 star. I did not find any flaws in it! The description is very simple. As they say there are 3 degrees of hardness, two on top and one on bottom. My wife and I had back pain with our previous mattress and were amazed at how quickly it resolved after just one night's sleep. on this mattress! Baby no, we saw a noticeable improvement in just one night. The first nights in months that we slept really well. The top is soft, not too soft like plush, but soft enough to conform to your body shape. So if you are looking for a very soft padded mattress, this mattress is not for you. This mattress emphasizes the contours of the body and has a pressure-relieving effect. Noise isolation springs work fine on all sides after testing all 3 sides. The medium hard side is slightly stiffer than the soft side. You get the same great feeling here too. If I had to rate both soft and medium hardness, I would rate the soft side an 8/10 and the medium side an 8.5/10. Yes, it really is that hard, but it's amazing that it doesn't feel like a rock, especially the hard side, but feels so comfortable when you lie on it. The hard side which I would rate a 9/10. It is quite firm and perfect for people who like a very hard mattress or need a very hard mattress depending on their quality of life. Though it's not uncomfortably tight. You won't feel any springs or discomfort. Just a very solid love :). If you're looking for a very soft mattress that doesn't really help with spinal alignment and pressure relief, then this mattress isn't for you. Also, did I forget to mention that it supports all types of sleepers? It does! My wife sleeps on her back and I sleep on my side. The 10 year guarantee gives me confidence that this mattress will last a very long time, apart from the fact that it is well made and feels so durable. Another thing to note is that people have complained about some of the other nice bedside mattresses that there were broken fiberglass underneath the cover. However, this is not the case. It came with a dark gray mattress which has a zip closure so it can be removed for washing. Underneath, there were no fiberglass splinters visible either at the rear or at the front. Guys this mattress is worth it for the 3 firmness levels you get, back support, quiet coils, removable cover and it doesn't smell bad. As long as you're comfortable with a non-plush mattress, I'd buy one of these before the price goes up. I hope this review is helpful to those looking for a good mattress to buy.
