I am very impressed

Having played around with different colors I have to say I am impressed. These aren't Prismas or Polys, but they're creamy, layered, and blend well. I use Springhill 67# Bristol Vellum pencil paper and that might make a difference. I like that the color names and numbers are easy to read (even without glasses!). I've seen some people have trouble sharpening and need a gentle hand with a manual sharpener. I also saw someone say there are a few of the same color with different names and while I haven't tested them all I thought I had a few of the same purple until I looked at them in daylight. They were VERY close, but still different. I think from 180 pencils you will get very close. Good range of colors, except skin tones, there are few of them so they may not be for you if you draw a lot of faces. Surprisingly few and grey. Another downside is the lack of open inventory. So if you use your favorite colors you can't just swap them out, but for the price (I paid less than $28 with coupon) you can't go wrong with this.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
