Nice Ceramic Hone and Sharpener

This is both a honing machine (edge smoother) and a fine sharpener. If your knife is really really dull you need a diamond sharpener for all super hard high quality modern stainless steels. But maintaining and sharpening a moderately dull blade is the right thing to do. By the way, if you don't know how to use a sharpener/sharpener then this tool probably isn't for you. To do a good job you need to hold the knife and sharpener at the right angle to each other and move the blade up or down and slightly into (not away from) the sharpener to avoid burrs on the blade (google it). I've been using it to maintain my kitchen knives for a few weeks now and they are noticeably sharper now. BTW, when you use a ceramic sharpener/sharpener, black specks of small metal particles will collect from the knives you are sharpening. This is normal for similar products I have used. You can remove these stains with Comet Paste or another type of abrasive, water and a Scotchbrite kitchen sponge. This works pretty well as long as you do it before the iron accumulation gets too busy and vitrified. Simply rub it with detergent and rinse under running water. I would recommend doing this every few weeks with normal use.
