I'm surprised at how heavy it is but that's due to the glass shelves. Plastic poles are cheap up close, but they're fine from a distance. I wonder how it will hold up over time due to the cheap plastic shelves, but for now it's a solid shelf. I bought this for my bedside table and it holds my laptop, phone, tablet and other things well. Conclusion - so far so good. Update: It's been two years and it's been through two moves and still looks great. I went back to order a second one for the other side of my bed but the price jumped from $35 to $55. It's only worth the cheaper price so I'll be looking elsewhere for my second shelf. Damn.
