This information is for those who don't know what to choose, otherwise I'm not trying to impose a type on anyone, that's just my opinion. From 1958 to today. I like only 1.5% lanthanum tungsten for one treatment. Application of alum bronze to the bearing surface of the clutch mechanism. Otherwise I don't use it. 2% Thoriated (RED) is the most useful in my opinion. The GRAY type is excellent for aluminum in most cases. They will all work, I just prefer what I like to use for many different welding processes.
