Normal, but needs many improvements
Would have been easy to assemble without the crooked weld. The base plate and part of the holder itself are completely different. As for the hardware they give you, be prepared to take a trip to Home Depot for real screws. I used the included mounting hardware and it started peeling off the wall under the weight of my helmet. Not very durable.
