Review on ๐Ÿ“ธ Neewer Stainless Steel Light Stand: Foldable & Portable 78.7 inches Studio Stand for Photographic Equipment - Silver by Erin Renee

Great buy for the price; Beware of the plastic on the 200cm model

It's a lot lighter than I thought it would be, but I guess that's the difference between a $25 model and twice the size. Works well and the adjustment knobs are spring loaded (I think). Pretty stable for my Flashpoint SK400II with medium sized octobox. Update June 25, 2018: One of the legs broke off in the plastic area where it connects to the center column. Didn't pull, didn't do anything aggressive. Just pulled down to expand like I always do. The other two seemingly inferior stands (no springs) that came with the Cowboy Studios steady light didn't break like this one and I've had them a year longer than this one. Otherwise it worked better, was more durable and well built. Now I'm definitely disappointed. Update 30 June 2018: The 200cm stand I have seems to have plastic connectors while the 220cm and 290cm versions are all metal. My and other angry 200 owners only talk about this model just to clarify. Aside from that part, which luckily didn't break like the others, the stand was a lot stronger than other cheap brands. At $20 it seems like a steal, and it can be good if you take that into account when handling it. But then again, these parts are vital and need to be moved every time, so while it can cost $20, it can also be a major hassle. I'm not sure I'm willing to pay another $30 for 290cm to get a reasonable height. At a certain point, money is money. Above the $50 mark, this becomes a legitimate purchase in my opinion, so you're much more likely to end up spending even more for a well-known brand's solidly built ceiling shelves. Especially after this experience, I don't feel like I want to give more money to this company. $20 is much easier to lose than $20 + $50.
