Review on QualGear QG-TM-002-BLK 37-Inch to 70-Inch Low Profile Fixed Wall Mount for LED TVs, Universal and Ultra Slim, Black by Kory Shelton

Does the job BUT. see 1 year update.

Well I've read ALL the reviews about this QG-TM 002 mount. Some were good, some bad. Some of them had good moments. Some were stupid. My main concern was expanding the scope of the mount. It says it's rated for a TV up to 70 inches and weighs 88 pounds. My TV is 75 inches and weighs only 78 pounds. Not sure why size matters? But I think I have 10 pounds to play with. The bracket seems strong enough to hold my TV. I made sure to wear stilettos near the hooks. I also installed a few extra drywall anchors for added security. After they hung him up, I put my full weight (175 pounds) on top of him. It is save. The level that came with the kit was MUCH higher! Don't believe it. I recommend a long level that reaches both ends. I've also read reviews that this mount doesn't level at all, so I also made sure the hooks attached to the TV were level using the line on the TV to measure. I'm glad I did because they were 1/4 inch smaller. With everything installed and aligned, the next hurdle was making sure the cables lined up with the hole I needed to cut under the wall bracket. I used gorilla tape to secure them for the lift. That was kind of a pain and the reason I gave it 3 stars. If I had to do it all over again I would go with a mount closer to 1 inch from the wall. Maybe I should rate it better as it's my fault. The elevator took 3 people as the TV was so big. Two for lifting and one for pulling the ropes when he goes up. It was hard to tell if the hooks were on. I don't know if the bottom lock/bolts are locked. Did a few wiggles and gentle tugs (don't break the flimsy cord or you're screwed) but I think they're stuck. Although I don't think too much about it. TV isn't going anywhere. I hope this helps someone make a decision or give them some advice on how to mount it very firmly on the wall. Looking back, I wouldn't do it again. Even though I'm good looking. Ha ha 08/17/20 Changed to 4 stars today. It's been hanging on my wall for almost 1 year now. Didn't have to take it off for any reason. Holds the TV well. I would bet that on something that weighs 100 pounds. On the other hand, hanging is inconvenient, and the heavier it is, the more difficult it is to do. I will not update this again. If it doesn't break. But that won't happen. Much luck.
