The tools are somewhat torn from the packaging (tightly packed plastic bag to protect the edges in transit). The only problem with them is that the finish on the outside is rough, as is to be expected in this price range. Right out of the box I punched through 8-9 oz of leather and it was hard to get punch after punch out but it left a pretty clear hole. After a little buffing and a sling ride, they cut nice clean holes in the 8-9 oz leather. I spent about 20 minutes on the workbench polishing all 10 punches and they polish well and then produce quality holes. Can't comment on longevity yet but I punched 10 holes at 0.5mm and they were all clean with expected reduction in bruising from well thought out punches to downsized noses.
