Review on Highrock IR Infrared Remote Extender Receiver Emitter Repeater System with Power Adapter by Dee Holt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works 100% perfectly. With Yamaha TSR-7850. No questions.

Update 2020-06-05 I will never use the remote control that came with the Yamaha TSR-7850 again. I have a Samsung Note 8 (Android) phone and downloaded the Yamaha AV Controller app. I have set up a Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver to access the wireless WiFi in our house and I can control all the functions of the Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver from my phone using the Yamaha TSR-7850 AV Controller app. So in truth, no IR receiver/transmitter is required as I can communicate with the Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver from anywhere in my house or even outside as long as I have access to wireless WiFi in my house. I can also stream music from my phone and play it on the Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver. Use Bluetooth to connect to a Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver as an audio device. Although I haven't tried it, I can probably connect to a music media player or Spotify and play music from my account directly on the receiver. Works 100% great. With Yamaha TSR-7850. No problem. Did a lot of research. I read many reviews. I couldn't find an IR receiver that I could buy that plugs into the "Remote In" port on the back of the receiver that works on the TSR-7850. There are many different brands, styles and manufacturers. IR receiver/transmitter (IR repeater). Virtually none of them will work with the Yamaha TSR-7850. This HIGHROCK IR Highrock IR Hidden Remote Extender Receiver Emitter Repeater System (with power supply) works great and flawless without any problems. Order another one after you complete this review. I didn't use glue to place the emitter over the IR receiver's eye. Instead, I placed the emitter below the main area where the IR eye is located and found that the emitter's IR beam would be wide enough for the Yamaha TSR-7850's IR eye to see, and it did it. I love the fact that the receiver flashes red when I send a command (touch button) from the remote. And the IR receiver is powerful and has a fairly wide field of view, plus the TSR-7850's IR is likely to bounce off walls, ceilings, etc. Because I can point the TSR-7850 in virtually any direction when in use, straight at the ceiling, at any wall (even in the opposite direction of the receiver) and the commands will still be sent. Highly recommended. See photos
