One of the portals arrived defective as it could not clamp the 2x4 crossmember properly. Instead of having the jaws of the yoke parallel to the 2x4, they were clamped at an angle and the teeth on one end of the yoke didn't even pierce the wood. I wouldn't trust this configuration at any weight let alone a stack of plywood as advertised. I have discovered that I cannot return an item to Revain because the 30 day return period has expired. I decided to contact Trojan to get a replacement. I called and then sent some pictures and a description of the problem. Within a day I was told that a technician had looked into the issue and agreed that the product was defective and that they would send a replacement. It's clear they blew out smoke because two months later and 20 emails later the replacement hasn't arrived and they won't be bouncing my emails anymore. My communication with them was so disrespectful that I couldn't believe it came from an American company. It looks like customer service was lost when Trojan Manufacturing was bought by Qualcraft Industries, which was then bought by Guardian Fall Protection. Lifetime guarantee? How about a big middle finger on your face and a simple bank account. That was my experience.
